We collect the least we can get away with. The only thing about you that ever appears publicly is the handle you choose. Your email address is never shown to anyone, never sold, and never passed to anyone except the service that delivers your mail.
No account, no cookie, nothing stored about you beyond the ordinary web server log described below. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking on any page.
Reports are read by moderators. They are never shown publicly, on the county page or anywhere else.
The web server records the usual: IP address, page requested, time. We also record failed sign-in attempts against your email and IP address so that we can rate-limit password guessing. Those records are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Your handle, and the contributions attached to it. That is all. Specifically:
Attribution is stored against your account rather than against the handle you had at the time, so changing your handle changes it everywhere, including on things you contributed years earlier. If you started with your real name and would rather not have it there, changing it once is enough.
That is the complete list. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or hand it to anyone else. If we are ever compelled to disclose something by a lawful order, we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.
Write to us and we will delete your account, your email address and your attendance records.
One thing we will not delete on request is a published meeting schedule that other people now rely on. We will remove your name from it — attribution becomes anonymous — but the fact of when a public body meets is a public fact, and it does not stop being true because the person who looked it up has left. If you think a specific record is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
This is not a service for children. Do not create an account if you are under 13, and tell us if you believe a child has.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the site rather than quietly editing the date. Questions, corrections and deletion requests all go to the address in the footer.
